I never imagined I would own a jewelry store..but after moving to Central PA from Tokyo, where I had lived with my family for five years, it seemed like the perfect way to use my expertise in pearls and a love for jewelry and design. So, ten years later Higashi has expanded three times and I am still having fun! (By the way..Higashi means East in Japanese!)

I designed Higashi as an alternative to the big chain stores. I purposely selected the shops above the West Shore Farmer´s Market for our unique store. We are anything but stuffy and intimidating..there is no dress code at the farmer´s market.
I have the most fabulous staff you could ever imagine. They are knowledgeable, helpful and truly enjoy helping you find just what you are looking for. Whether it is a diamond pendant, an engagement ring or a fun fashion piece we truly have something for every taste and budget.

Searching for the latest in jewelry and pearls gives me a great excuse to visit Japan, Hong Kong, Brazil and Israel as well as many jewelry shows around the US. I love looking for the next trend or new designer...which is one reason I created Higashi Eyewear.

Eyewear is the ultimate fashion accessory. I wear glasses and I had found it difficult to find great eyewear that I looked good in and were fashionable. I am so proud of what we have created...the best selection of sunglasses, prescription frames and superior lenses in Central PA!
